Research
I apply geomorphology and geochronology to answer questions about the evolution of the earth.
I am particularly interested in glaciation, and how changing patterns of glaciation both reflect and affect the earth system.
I also use physical modeling and case reports to understand the effects of less-than-lethal weapons on the human body.
Holocene glaciation in Patagonia
My primary line of research is the assembly of a refined Holocene paleoglacier chronology for Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Landscape evolution in the Himalaya
Utilizing paired measurements of summit weathering and basin denudation, I evaluated long-term relief production in the Ladakh Himalaya of northwestern India.
Climate and tectonics in the Alps
A basic geomorphic analysis revealed a correlation between cirque floor elevations, present climate, and deeply-exhumed rocks within the southern European Alps.
